BLUEPRINT FOR YOUTH CLUBS SUMMIT
Clubs for Young People are co-ordinating the Blueprint project to establish a “blueprint for modern, fun and effective youth centres.” A panel of experts in the field (youth workers, architects, designers, funders etc.) have been working together to make some recommendations for a future plan for youth centre provision. David Blunkett , MP has agreed to champion the project which is very positive. CYP are holding a series of hearings and summits in the hope that interested people and groups will join them to share their views and ideas on the best way forward. They want to make a considerable impact on government decisions around the future of youth provision and need as much information from people as possible. This regional summit is being hosted by Young Devon and will have a particular emphasis on the issues of rurality in the development of provision for young people. The day will focus on several overall themes:

• What is different and/or unique about youth provision in rural settings?
• How can practitioners be heard, influential and resourced in a city-centric environment?
• What impact does rurality have on the over themes below?
Buildings and structure
• How do we effectively map provision and good practice?
• How do we best share facilities with other groups and community members?
• What experience do you have of working across communities?
Workforce development
• How do we best ensure quality, adequate deployment and support for staff in rural settings?
• What staff: young people ratios are required?
• How we work to sustain and develop volunteers,
Activities and programming
