VYS Devon Application Process
In considering new applications VYS (Devon) will require the following information:
- a fully completed membership application form
- a copy of the organisation's constitution; and
- a copy of the organisation's latest annual report and accounts.
The VYS Executive decides on membership applications based on the material that the organisation has provided and any knowledge of the organisation that individual members of the Executive or staff may have. In considering applications the following factors will be important:
- the length of time the organisation has been functioning and its financial situation. Membership will generally be open to organisations which are properly constituted and whose existence is not time limited for a particular purpose;
- that a stated policy is in existence on equal opportunity values or there is a commitment to improved practice in this area; and
- that young people have an opportunity to take active part in the organisation's decision-making processes.
Following acceptance into membership the organisation will be sent a membership welcome pack with full details of the VYS work programme and services.
