The volunteer centre aims to recruit, interview and place volunteers within the community, by maintaining opportunities for volunteering. It also responds to requests for volunteers from voluntary and statutory groups and its office is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for advice and information about volunteering in the Crediton area. It promotes volunteering, by participation in local events and regular media coverage in newspapers and radio.
It also hopes to promote worthwhile volunteer opportunities specifically for young people and also to give recognition to young people in Crediton and the surrounding rural areas, and to this end has initiated a Youth Newsletter which will be managed by young people and will promote the value of volunteering.
