The aim of Devon CAP project is to provide a comprehensive, school-based Child Assault Prevention programme in Devon Schools, training children and adults in the recognition of child abuse, and in the development of effective strategies for preventing it; thus reducing the vulnerability of children to verbal, physical, sexual assault and neglect.
All CAP workshops are based on the fundamental human right to grow up in safety - with the rights to be Safe, Strong and Free forming the cornerstone. Originating in the USA, 18 other countries have been trained to deliver the programme. Devon CAP was formed in 1995 as an independent organisation to launch the scheme in the United Kingdom
