ADVA Training - Following the recommendations to come out of the Munro and the necessary streamlining taking place within Devon County Council, it has been decided that ADVA training should now sit within DCC's workforce development safeguarding training programme, bringing children's safeguarding training, adults' safeguarding training and domestic violence and abuse training together under one umbrella. This means that from 1st April 2012 ADVA / domestic violence and abuse training across Devon will be managed by a new team within DCC and under the DSCB (Devon Safeguarding Children's Board) and the SAB (Safeguarding Adult's Board) funding model for multi-agency training provision. The idea is for agencies to decide now, in advance of the 2012 - 13 financial year, how many of their staff might require training from 1st April 2012 to 31st March 2013 and how many places on each course type they might require.  The idea is to then pay for this forecast demand 'up front' for the year, to take advantage of the reduced partner rate.  The other option is to 'pay as you go' as a non-partner, but delegate places are typically more costly as a non-partner. There will no longer be free places for the voluntary sector on the Foundation Course from April 2012. For details contact Susannah Hunter on 07837 683 758.
