The Prince’s Trust Team
was launched in 1990 nationally to provide a 12 week personal development programme for young people (16-25) of all backgrounds and abilities. This includes both employed or unemployed young people and aims to develop teamwork and individual skills whilst benefiting local communities. In Devon Dartington Tech delivers the Prince’s Trust programme in East, Mid and South Devon since 1994 has run over 120 teams, and enables over 800 individuals of all backgrounds and abilities to complete the programme, gain confidence, new skills and realise their potential with 2 out of 3 of the team members going onto further education, a new job or continue volunteering in their local community or abroad within 3 months of completing the programme. The programme is twelve weeks and includes a team-building residential, community based team and individual work placements and a team challenge and the young people work towards a City and Guilds Certificate in Personal, Teamwork and Community Skills, together with Keyskill units.
