What Does VYS Devon Do

VYS Devon has five Aims these are:

Aim 1 - Provision of practical help to ensure the support necessary to develop and maintain the voluntary youth sector;

Aim 2 - Enabling the Voluntary Youth Sector to have a Voice and Influence in order that it might influence public policy at a local level on work with young people and their voluntary and community organisations:

Aim 3. To support, develop and promote collaboration and networking;

Aim 4. Taking a pro-active approach to encouraging those organisations that work with marginalised young people into VYS membership;

Aim 5. Ensure that VYS (Devon) is a well run organisation in line with Charity Commission guidelines.

VYS (Devon) works closely with the Devon Youth Service and a range of other bodies/agencies whose ultimate aim is to improve the lives of young people in Devon.

VYS is largely funded by Devon County Council and distributes grant to a number of its member organisations as well as offering a range of other services - for further details see Membership Principles of VYS Devon.

The VYS (Devon) is currently working to its Strategic Development Plan 2005 - 2008
