GOING GLOBAL
The NYA has launched a new website providing information for youth workers on a wide range of global issues affecting young people. The new site, www.nya.org.uk/global has been put together by the Global Youth Work Project at The NYA, and follows a need identified in two recent surveys. Topics covered on the site include human rights, globalisation, travel and the lifestyles of young people around the world. There are also extensive listings of resources, events and training opportunities. Visitors to the site can write reviews with the chance to see them used in the 'resource of the month' feature. There will also be regular competitions to win featured resources. Jo Aubrey, Global Youth Work Project Manager says "We have really tried to make sure that the website responds to the specific needs amongst youth workers for more information on global issues as they affect young people. The site is also intended to be dynamic and so will develop in time as we discover more material and examples of best practice. Anyone with an example of good practice or an event or resource they would like to see listed on the site should contact Caroline Harmon on 0116 242 7465, or email: mailto:carolineh@nya.org.uk
