A BROADER PARISH: Working Together, Improving Rural Communities
This is the latest research and policy report from the Rural Team at NCVO that explores the relationships between parish councils, voluntary and community organisations (VCOs), and individuals in rural areas, drawing on the experiences of three rural parishes in Devon. The recent Local Government White Paper will make it easier to create neighbourhood bodies such as parish councils and also expand the powers of some parish councils. VCOs will need to be able to work in this new environment and this report comments on how VCOs and parish councils can best work together for the benefit of communities.
